Roadmap (Please read!)
Holy crap is building this site turning out to take SO MUCH longer than expected. I thought it would be super quick because I had already installed UNA on a test domain and it looked basically perfect right out of the box! But then I got started here, and started doing customizations, and once you customize one area, it makes you realize that there are now 10 new areas that need customizing so they match, and for each of those another 10, and so on and so forth!
I welcome all your feedback and suggestions - but for my sanity, please stick to the feedback that I'm asking for - at least for now! There are specific things I have to focus on to ensure the site is ready to go by the convention, and I'd REALLY like to not have to file an extension on my taxes again, like I did the year of the Etsy Strike. XD
First, I recommend reading this doc. It starts with a description and some key concepts to keep in mind about UNA - the software I'm building this site with. Next, it moves into a description of what type of functionality we'll gain access to as I complete all the necessary configuration for each module!
A roadmap is a term developers use - it's something they publish to keep users apprised of what features they're working on, what features are planned for the future and when to expect them. For now, I'm just adding stuff here as I finish it, along with just a few planned steps for the future. I'm still learning how to use UNA, so I don't know exactly what will be possible until I start experimenting with each module! If you see something on the site that looks weird, please check here first to see if it's a section I'm finished with. If so, then click here to report it.
Roadmap (Pre-Convention)
- Set up basic membership levels and new user signup
- Set up editing user profiles at each membership level
- Set up basic display of user profiles at each membership level
- First tab "Profile"
- Second tab "More Info"
- Set up top level categories of verified seller directory
- Set up member Showcase
- Figure out events
- Set up event for Convention
- Discussion (Forum) Categories ⬅ I am here!
After the convention
- Continue tweaking and optimizing
- Figure out Groups!
- Figure out Hashtags/Channels
What I need right now
Please set up your verified seller profiles, and any showcases you wish to create, and let me know if everything's easy to use, or if there's something I should tweak for user friendliness!
