The 2024 convention is over, now let's start planning 2025!
That was a joke. Sorry, Chiarra, I'm joking!
Haha it is a THING with me that every time I do a Steampunk convention, I'm planning which outfits I want to wear/make the following year ON the ride home. I find myself bouncing around with extra energy and ideas that MUST go somewhere.
Turns out, this is no exception! I thought I'd make a post inviting feedback and ideas from our 2024 convention, and what we can do to make things better for 2025!
Here's mine! Well, the primary one. BOY were those 8-hours-with-no-lunch-break days long for Chiarra and I, lol. Next year I think we should do some panels 1hr and some panels 30m, so that we're able to make the whole thing shorter and put a lunch break in the middle! Then what we do over the lunch break is we make a slideshow featuring creations from the 2025 convention showcase, and play those on a loop with some text on the side telling people to check out our vendors!

Y'all never took a lunch break?! Bestie! You gotta factor in some breaks!
I will say that I love the idea of having that slide show of creators play while the lunch break is happening. For the panels, you could split the difference and do 45 minutes, which gives you 15 minutes in between panels to ensure there are no technical problems (and also give y'all some time to drink some water and breathe).

I know! Haha that dawned on both of us the morning of the convention, we were like "wait, why did we schedule it this way??!"
The panels wound up being completely different as to amount of actual content for each! There were several that could have easily fit in a 30m time block, and if we do it that way we could fit more panels into a shorter streaming day, and not have to turn people down next year. But it would be nice to have a 45m option too if we can figure out how to make the schedule not too confusing!
