Check out our Showcase!

I am LOVING the way things are turning out with the Showcase (thanks to @PunkyJane for the name!)

It'll be the functionality on our site that allows us to BOTH showcase our own creations/curations, AND create lists of creations/curations by our fellow guildies to feature on the second tab of our profiles, and a ton of other things that I haven't fully explored yet!

You can see how it will work right now, and I'll enable them for verified sellers either this afternoon or over the weekend at some point. The last bit of functionality I need to test is what happens when showcases expire, so I set the timeframe to 1 day and made one yesterday afternoon, and I'm waiting for 24 hours to pass! (Edit: OKAY - they just go "inactive" and you go to "Showcases/Manage" and click little slider buttons to enable them, it's super easy!)

But here's what it looks like when you add showcases - they automatically show up right on your profile in a section that says "By (your business)":

There is a section of our site where you can view all showcases together, which has tabs where they're in order by recency or popularity, and you can also browse categories and search.

Then finally, showcases can be attached to groups/events, so that they only show up on your profile and in the group/event - they don't show up on the "all showcases together" page. Still figuring this out! But groups and events have visibility settings where content is invisible unless you're a member, so I see this as a possible way to manage adult content so that it's only visible to logged in group members. And possibly create special custom showcases on a specific theme too!

When you're looking at someone else's showcase, here are the options you have:

Buttons in a row: View, Like, Favorite, Repost, Report showcase, Share

The first thing is just a view counter. "Like" is a lot like a Facebook like, and it will bump it up on that "Popular" tab. "Favorite" is what you use to feature it on the second tab of your profile, and it lets you create separate lists too:

image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=26&dpx=1&t=1711115956"Repost" is a lot like a Tumblr repost - it shares the showcase to your own timeline and notifies your friends and followers. "Report" sends a notification to mods to take a look. I can actually add custom report reasons - if we get big enough, will probably do a "dishonest reseller" or something similar. Finally, "Share" will share it to standard social media apps.

So that's just the portion of "Showcase" functionality that pertains to the public part of our site! Here is the post about actually creating one, and upcoming features for them!

    • Hello, I'm new here, and my account was just verified and upgraded to seller. However, I'm unable to see the final link on this post because it tells me I need to log in...and I'm logged in. How do I add a showcase to my page?

      • Oh sorry - haha things are a little crazy at my house right now, a sick kid and a sick husband and I'm mostly well so far but very easily distractable! I normally reply when I update people's memberships and let you know there's one more step to be verified. And send you this link to learn more lol!

Which I completely forgot to do yesterday! After you're verified, the link will work and the buttons to add showcases will appear. :-)
